Arriving at the bank today was as low-stress as possible with no other customers inside. Staff were pleasant, polite and relaxed.
In spite of the multiple confirmations that everything was in hand, however, the card was not found where expected. Immediate consternation and elevated breathing.
With other customers now arriving, the suggestion was made that we sit and search the purse at leisure. More panic.
The bank represenative advised that we should not be concerned about the old card at this point, since it was cancelled. We were then led to the very polite and helpful Danny, who created a new, temporary card, confirming address. (Decision was made to have documents flow to Mississauga in future.)
Old card was located where it had last been used; in the envelope with the cheques, and Danny disposed of it.
Danny heard several stories, but not the one about the South Nelson church.
Transactions were completed, and it was on to shopping.
